What do the various health insurance plans cover?

1. Major Health Coverage (Private or GEHI)

Coverage can include broad overseas benefits, unlimited doctor visits, eye and dental care, prescription medication, etc.

2. Only Private Basic Health Coverage

This is a basic health insurance plan that covers standard coverage and is offered by private insurance companies. It includes limited overseas benefits, limited doctors’ visits, limited/ no dental coverage, etc.

3. Only the Government’s HIP

This would be the Government Health Insurance Plan, which is available to persons of all ages. HIP covers standard and supplemental benefits.

4. Only FutureCare

FutureCare is a health care programme for Bermuda’s seniors. It provides standard hospital and additional benefits.
