What is a Population and Housing Census?

A census is a comprehensive count in a country at a specified time. A population and housing census is the process of collecting, compiling and publishing demographic, economic and social data pertaining to all persons.  It provides detailed data on the size of the population, housing, age structure, educational attainment, labour force and other socio-economic characteristics. Bermuda’s 2026 Census will be a Census of Population and Housing and data collection will begin on 21^st May 2026.
