Who uses the census data?

Central government policy makers and planners require data from the census to assist in the development of long-term policies. A changing population means increasing/ decreasing demands for a wide variety of services, such as childcare, education, health care, housing, care of the elderly and transportation. Information generated from the 2026 Census will be useful to a variety of organizations, both public and private, that have the responsibility for meeting the demand for such services. In addition, the census serves the data needs of researchers, businesses, international organizations, students and the general community.
